Can I get sappy here for a second?
This little print may not seem like much, but it’s the first thing I’ve screen printed in about 5 1/2 years.
More than anything, I made it as a reminder for myself.
The past couple of years have been hard for all of us, no doubt.
I myself have had a few major life events happen in addition to – oh – carrying on during a global pandemic.
Life gets hard, and sometimes we could use a little push.
Since I’m now printing out of a little rudimentary studio set up in my basement, I took this one way back to basics. It’s technically a two-color print, but I decided to paint the black ink on as the first color on each of the prints. I actually really like the way it came out, and I may continue doing it for future prints.
I also painted made the stencil with trusty old drawing fluid and screen filler. About the most basic way possible to create a stencil on a screen. Again, it was fun, easy to do in a basement, and I’ll probably do that more in the future.
Oh yeah – these puppies are for sale here if you’re interested!
